Part II
“Once she got to the elevator she began to have a strong urge to turn around. This feeling was not the same as before. This was a feeling as if something was going to happen to her. Something that she would not be able to prevent. She slowly reached forward to press the button for the elevator, and she felt it once again. It was a powerful rush causing her to stumble in her stance. She gathered herself and ignored the feeling. She looked up and counted the numbers as the elevator went floor to floor. She glanced at her watch realizing that she was running behind.
The elevator seemed to be moving at the speed of a tortoise. She glanced around the hallway looking for an alternate route. She could take the stairs, but that would mean taking off her shoes and walking barefoot on the filthy floor. She would not dare. She was on the 20th floor, so that meant her options were limited. She had to sit and be patient.
As the elevator doors opened she could see her reflection in the mirror-lined walls. She turned away trying to avoid the image. She grabbed a pair of sunglasses out of her purse and used them to shield herself from her own view. She rode on the elevator with herself while trying to ignore her image as it lowered for 20 floors. She tried to think of something else. Anything else, but of how she looked.
The doors opened, she emerged from the elevator into the oncoming crowd. She pushed herself through as if she was freeing herself. She gasped for air at a moment of comfort. She peered through the top of her sunglasses looking for the exit. She approached the door and was greeted by the chauffer who welcomed her and opened the door.
She could feel his stares. She tried to ignore it and keep walking. He opened the car door and she slid inside rushing to not be seen by pedestrians or other tenants of the building. She flicked her hands to signal the chauffer to drive. She sat back in her seat and she clinched her chest. She could feel pressure building up inside of her. The chauffeur complemented her on her stunning beauty, but she ignored him and tried to push herself as far back into the town car as possible.
She grabbed a bag out of her purse and began blowing into the bag. Her breaths were quick at first, then she slowed them to regain to steady heartbeat. She could feel a dizziness coming over her as if she was going to faint. She reached into her purse for her pills. She opened the bottle while shaking trying not to spill them all over the floor. She grabbed one and hurried it into her mouth. She said to herself “I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.”
The car pulled up alongside of a huge building with beautiful colored glass windows eliminating with the lights from inside of the building. The mere structure of the building was enticing enough. She peered out of her window. She knew that it was time to make her entrance. Despite every part of herself that was working against her. She knew she had to just try.
The chauffer walked around to her door. As he opened it, she tried to let everything remain inside of the car. She coaxed herself into making it this far and knew that she was only a few steps away. She placed her hand on the hand of the chauffer as he reached to help pull her out of the car. She pulled back only for a second, then willed herself to move forward.
She stood up and was making her journey into the building. She read the sign and was amazed by how far her friend had come. She looked around and noticed a serene peace on the street which was unusual in this area. There was always cars, people, and noise. Nothing. An eerie silence filled the air. She walked inside of the building putting her worries aside.”

Author Notes
I took a basic story and changed it in a new direction. I am still writing with no idea, but using an opened mind.
