On his way home from work one rainy night, Peter noticed something in the middle of the road. He was not sure if it was a child or a dog. He decided to pull over to investigate. As he got closer, he realized that it was a little boy. Both nervous and distraught, Peter picked up the little boy and begun to look around for his parents. The rain had begun to pour down harder and caused Peter to have limited vision, but he did see silhouette of people on both sides of the road.
He walked toward the figure on the left. As he got closer, he realized that it was a man and asked if he was the father of the child. The man replied, “Yes”. At that moment, the man began to weep. Peter did not know what to do, so he patted the man on the shoulder and told him that things will get better. The man turned to him and stated, “These are not tear of sorrow, but tears of joy”.
Peter was confused and asked the man to explain. The man informed Peter that his house just burned down. Peter, still confused looked at the man and asked him why that was a good thing. The man began to say, “At the time my house caught on fire, my wife and I was at the table trying to figure out how we were going to pay our bills this month. Times got hard since I lost my job. Just then, we began to smell smoke. I jumped up and ran to grab the kids and pulled my family to safety. The reason that these tears are of joy is because we all made it out safely.”
Peter asked him was that the end of the story. He was trying to figure out the good part. He saw a family in the road without a place to sleep. The man said the Peter, “You came along just as we were praying to God.”
Peter was furious. “How can your God send me to you if I do not want to help you?” The man replied, “It is not for you to help me, but for me to help you. I know that I lost all that I had, but in my hour of need, my prayer was not for myself, but for someone else. I had an ache in my heart telling me that I needed to help someone find what they lost. Are you lost?”
Peter did not know what to say. He had never met anyone that cared more for others than themselves. Peter knew that he needed something and did not expect it to come in that form. Peter realized that his wealth meant nothing if he could not share it.

These sketches are totally imagined from the pictures that I find online. I look for pictures of all types and begin writing what I feel.
